Students Participate in Digital Legislative Day
April 8, 2019
Five PCMS Students from Ms. Courtney Hale's coding classes had the privilege to participate in Digital Legislative Day in Raleigh. They were able to interact with legislators, demonstrating their technology skills as well as sit in the Senate gallery and stand on the Senate floor.
The students were also able to meet with Senator Bob Steinburg in his office.
8th Graders Prepare for High School
April 8, 2019
PCHS principal, Mr. Price, met with 8th grade students to discuss course offerings available to them next year. PCMS students will tour the high school this week and begin planning their schedules for next year.
PCMS 8th Graders Participate in Shad Research
April 8, 2019
PCMS students are participating in the shad research project conducted through East Carolina University. In addition to hatching the fish eggs to be released this week, students had the opportunity to learn about fish anatomy. Students from East Carolina University provided PCMS students with a lecture on fish anatomy and led them through a dissection activity.
PCMS Hunter Safety Team Heading to State Competition
April 8, 2019
The Perquimans County Middle School Hunter Safety Team placed first overall in the Region 1 Jr. Division Competition. The team will participate in the state competition in April.
The team won numerous other team and individual awards as well.
PCMS Students Qualify for State Math Competition
April 8, 2019
Perquimans County Middle School Math 1 and 2 students participated in the NC Region 1 Mathematics Competition at Chowan University. Eby Scaff and Noah Swinney will be heading to the state level competition this spring.
